assalamualikum,
this is my very first web blog...from my knowledge, the word "blog" is come from combination two words, i.e., web + log = blog.
It was told that blog became famous during Iraqi war. So since than blog has to be one of important part in internet. here i cited some information about blog from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog)

As a muslim, we can create blog to spread knowledge. May Allah shed his light to all muslim.
